Our company Design Engineering was established in 1991 in Timaru to provide structural steel inspection, steel detailing, equipment inspections, weld Inspection and welder qualification testing.
Over the coming years the business expanded. In early 2007 a branch was opened in Christchurch and one in Dunedin the following year. In 2014 a branch was opened in Hamilton. In 2018 Design Engineering acquired Survey NZ, a well-established business set up in Nelson undertaking Ship surveys and land based equipment inspections. By this time the expanded business included: civil and mechanical engineering, consulting, non-destructive testing, welding inspections and equipment inspections.
In early 2021 a major restructure was implemented and DE Group was formed. The group includes three separate limited liability companies trading as DE Consulting Engineers & Inspection, DE Calibration & Compliance and Survey NZ.
